We knew from the start of the day that this wedding was going to be something different! Soon as we walked into Allely Estate’s massive Marquee, we were greeted by some of the most epic table settings ever! With each table boasting a cut out record of some of the most classic hits or bands to have graced our ears! These two sure weren’t kidding about being huge music lovers!
We also spotted some incredible setups of drum sets, mics and guitars so we safely assumed that the night was gonna get taken away by bands and dances! We were right about the dances but… Kirsty and Ben had something waiting for us that was soooooo much more epic than just some “band”.
Getting ready at Allely Estate went without a hitch and we even got a few super sweet moments/hugs with the very dashing Maddox and Kirsty!
While getting ready, Ben received one of THE most awesome wedding gifts I’d ever seen! A fully signed Arsenals football from the team itself! I reckon I’d be happy to get married again just to get a prezzy like this lol
That wasn’t the only epic gift of the day though, Kirsty also surprised our man of the day with a framed poster of what the constellation was like on the night that their stars aligned :P
And in true musician fashion, Ben’s gift to the boys squad had to be an instrument lol
The bus arrived with the closest family and friends of our stars of the day.
Ben and the boys straightened their suits and adjusted their ties.
Jon our celebrant did a last check of all the audio gear.
Finally it was time for the beat to drop <3
Half way through the ceremony we got a glimpse of just how sweet Maddox is as mum cried her eyes out at the emotional event, Maddox leaned over and a hand on her shoulder, told her he was there with her. Seriously wondering which lucky girl gets to marry him in some distant future lol
After a bit (tons :P) of hugs and kisses from a crowd of excited family and friends, we set off for a few bridal party photos <3
A massive thank you to Allely Estate too for starting the party out the right way! When we asked if we could buy a bottle of bubbles to spray, Catherin and Wendy just shoved one into our hands and said to have fun. Seriously stooked how awesome these humans are! And fun we had :P highlight was definitely our Champaign spray… Ben, apparently not very good at “aiming”, popped the cork and managed to get everyone except himself wet… yes, I went there :D
We decided to run to the forests after the ceremony was done and with the two officially as Mr & Mrs :P
It was easy to see why they were a perfect match for each other as they sang, hugged, danced and just laughed with each other so effortlessly the entire time. Not sure if they even noticed us snapping away lol
The same could be said for our sunset session which we snuck away to do right after getting back to Allely Estate just on their fields. Maddox decided to join us half way through and we managed to get some pretty… unique shots outta it 🤣
I’d like to say we made magic that day but I’ll let you be the judge of that <3
With applause whistles and YAAAAAAAAAAA, our newly married couple made their way into the reception with an epic night of speeches and awesome food awaiting them. Apart from how epic these 2 humans are and how much they loved each other, we also got to learn how Ben was… is an awesome artist <3 the proof is in the drawing which I’m soooooo glad Kirsty decided to keep from their first date 🤣
Finally it was time for the first dance but there seemed to be a small hitch as one of the most cheesiest love songs came on…. neither of our newly weds seemed to particularly like the song… so with a sign to our celebrant now turned DJ the music was cut and our stars slung their guitar and straddled the drums set.
Bam we were off! Having written their own wedding song we got more than just a few surprised guests with opened mouths while others jumped up and done like in the mosh pits! What’s even more impressive was that Kirsty had only taken up drumming 6 months ago, coulda fooled me :P
And with the epic overhanging fairy lights at Allely Estate we had to get our night shot in before ending the night. I’d like to think this shot will make any Auckland Wedding Photographer jealous :P
