Auckland Wedding Photographer | Auckland Wedding Videographer

FAQ

What’s your shooting style?

I like being in the thick of things where the action is! I want to be at your big day as a friend and not just a wedding photographer and videographer! So that being said, its super important for me to get to know you before the day either with coffee or even zooms if there's a bit of distance between us :P

At other times I'm a total ninja if I feel there are moments that I want to see organically unfold. Armed with a long lens I'll stalk away in the corner waiting for dad's tear to drop without him even knowing I'm there.

I don't do much posing except for couples shoots in which I'll let you know exactly what you need to do so you'll never have to feel awkward in front of the lens!

What kind of food do you need?

I'll eat anything :P But at the end of the day, the team would really appreciate a hot meal as we would have been running around non-stop all day! If you're having a buffet styled meal, we'd love to be able to grab a plate and get in line with everyone. Otherwise, most venues have special "vendor meals" that they can provide for wedding photographers.

How do I plan for my wedding!!! How do I even start??

Booking with us would be an awesome start :P All seriousness though, if you’re planning everything yourself, your vendors are your biggest helpers! Whether it’s the venue or your photographer/videographer, there’s a wealth of knowledge that you can tap into and get recommendations from. You can also check out our blogs for inspo, whether it’s how to plan for a rainy day wedding or the best way to plan a vegan wedding—as vendors we’ve pretty much seen it all!!

Do you have a limit of how many photos you take?

We usually take about 5000-12000 photos during a day depending on how many shooters and how long we're there for. Also depends on how crazy the day is. Having additional cultural ceremonies or events would mean extra shots of course. I will then take these photos and condense them down to the crème of the crop. The best and most important shots that will help you remember your big day and you'll receive 700+ fully edited photos for a full day's shoot.

How do you deliver my wedding photos and film?

You'll get a personal online gallery for your photos through a link. This way you can share these with your family and friends just by giving them the link. The full gallery is private and only those with the link will be able to find it. For your wedding highlight film, it will be uploaded to YouTube for you to watch and share with your family and friends. A separate full quality version (YouTube isn't exactly the best in video quality :P) will also be available for you to download through a separate link afterwards.

Do you offer wedding albums prints, canvas etc. that I can order?

Yap, definitely! We've partnered up with one of NZ (and I dare say, world's) best fine arts printing company to design and create albums and prints of the highest quality. Let me know if you're interested and I'd be happy to bring samples to show you over a coffee.

How do you be a wedding photographer and videographer at the same time?

I don’t :P I have a team of awesomes who shoot in my style and we all have cameras glued to our eyes to capture those special moments. This way we'll never miss a beat whether its photos or film for times like when you're walking down the aisle or that first kiss! I do however switch between photo and video as I see fit during the wedding party and couples photo session.

Do I need a second shooter?

If you can fit it into your budget, I would definitely recommend it! By having a second shooter, there's more angles being captured of whatever is happening, whether its you walking down the aisle, the cake cutting or the first dance, more angles = more photos!

It also ensures that more of the day is captured, after all, I can't be everywhere at once :P The getting ready for example is one of the places where having a second shooter really shines and we can cover both the guys and girls getting ready at the same time.

Our second shooters are all amazing wedding photographers in their own right but shoot in my style so that you can be sure that the photos that you receive are the best of the best!

Do I need a second shooter (Film)?

A second shooter means there’s more angles for your ceremony and reception speeches doco film!

There will be a dedicated cameras directed at each of the newly weds during ceremony and for the reception speeches, one camera will be on the speech giver and another on you guys. The footage will switch between the 2 cameras depending on where all the actions are.

The second shooter is also able to assist in setting up gear (and there is a LOOOOOOT) such as stationary cameras, lights, audio, etc. so that the main shooter can just focus on being creative.
