Deer Valley NZ | A Beautiful, Intimate Outdoor Auckland Wedding Venue

Well, we’ve got to write about one of our favorite Auckland wedding venues yet at Deer Valley NZ!
After shooting Laura and Ngā’s beautiful outdoor wedding surrounded by the soft beauty of Deer Valley’s B&B honeymoon suite, decor, and seamless indoor-outdoor wedding and reception venue, how could we not rave about them?
Laura and Ngā’s truly stunning wedding table setting and decoration layout with muted neutral tones and white flowers—how classy!
Set on a picturesque deer farm, located in Ararimu, Bombay, South Auckland, if you pick Deer Valley as your perfect New Zealand wedding venue, you’ll get the privilege of vast lawns, manicured gardens, paddocks of graceful deer, and a breathtaking view of the Hunua Ranges.
In the evening, bride, groom, and wedding guests all get an up-close view of the deer during the daily deer feeding, perfect for unique wedding photo opportunities with those lovely creatures!
Sure, it was raining that day (hence those lovely clear umbrellas — a rainy day wedding photography must!), but no rain can distract from the stunning setting of Deer Valley NZ ❤
That’s not all—the best part of Deer Valley (in my opinion!) is the absolute graciousness of wedding venue hosts Tania and Greg as they give 1000% to ensure the entire wedding party is having one of the most divine experiences of their lives.
It was amazing to watch how deeply intertwined Tania and Greg were with Laura and Ngā’s wedding ceremony and reception—they were practically the wedding planners themselves!

Not only that, the two of them are such a kind, caring, and personable pair, that I personally think they add such a warm touch to a wedding day.
I felt they could handle ANY sort of wedding emergency.. even up to the last hour before the ceremony, when we were trying to figure out if the clouds overhanging Auckland would play nice or not with the rain, Tania + Greg were completely ready to go on backup ceremony plans, photoshoot locations.. even having umbrellas prepared in convenient buckets at each entrance!
Another overhead drone wedding photography look at some lovely wedding marquee and layout details: Laura and Ngā’s wedding featured an indoor clear marquee with grouped long table seating with the bar central to the dance floor AND an outdoor overhang area with cushioned seating! (I loooved the white outdoor cushions, good for offering a place to chill near the wedding party but still close by! Also super classy!)
What made having a wedding at Deer Valley NZ even more special was that the venue is Tania and Greg’s home when it’s not the setting of a couple’s most momentous day! Is that not such a touching thing, to be able to dance in the joy of your love in the home of someone who has graciously opened it to you?
Deer Valley’s lovely outdoor ceremony spot! We were so lucky we caught the perfect dry spell between the rain this day—not a single guest got a drop of rain on them during the whole Auckland wedding ceremony! Greg and Tania were thoughtful enough to cordon off a walkway to guide guests around here : )
Anyways, I digress..
Deer Valley NZ is an AWESOME Auckland, New Zealand wedding venue in the Franklin area, just 40 minutes outside of Auckland CBD!! Tania and Greg are awesome! You’ll cherish any wedding memories made here forever ❤
The venue is quite exclusive and only has openings for less than 10 weddings a season, so I wouldn’t wait—book as soon as you can get one of those coveted spots!
