Ena & Luke | Kumeu Valley Estate | Auckland Wedding Venue
A Wedding that just has it all, literately
The Awesome Wedding Vendors that made it happen!
When I say this wedding had it all, I mean it lol from Gate Crashing games to epic sunsets, broken collar bones to getting covid, from an unforgettable first look with the wrong bride to the whole bridal party going full on fabulous and so much more lol
Before we even get into the main day our story starts with these 2 epic humans making their way back to New Zealand from the other side of the world, Canada. But being Ena and Luke, things had to be more exciting than JUST flying back, so Luke decided it’ll be a good idea to break his collar bone a month out from the big day 🤣 (DW all fixed and he’s still alive)
So all’s going well and the day before their big day, I get a frantic call from Luke while in the middle of a wedding couples session saying that Ena had somehow managed to get Covid while a faint zombie voice could be heard in the background continuously saying “I’m sorry Dan!” (at least I think that’s what she was saying LOL)
And so with all the craziness outta the way, we were finally ready to get these two married! But in true Chinese fashion, Luke had to prove first that he was worthy of our gorgeous bride. And so the trials began 😈
I must say Luke, I’ve never seen anyone transport straws in such an elegant fashion… in fact I never even imaged someone would do it that way 🤣
After proving his worth (along with a few red bag bribes along the way :p), our groom finally got to have his first touch with Ena. Small twist though… He got Sim instead <3 The moment he touched Sim’s beard and realised his bride was a bit hairier, both hands launched into the air in disbelief while still blindfolded 🤣 It. Was. Gold.
After a quick first touch with the REAL bride, you could see the nervousness fade instantly from both their faces, we were ready to get these two hitched for real this time <3
With the weather being a bit unpredictable, we decided to have the ceremony inside and thanks to the awesome team at Kumeu Valley Estate, everything was setup perfectly in record time.
Although we had a first touch, it was so endearing when Luke saw his bride for the first time. From a look of awe at first and then a look of happiness and bliss.
The party started off the right way, with some Champaign popping! From there the heat kept getting turned up with the bridal party striking one fabulous pose after another. Yap, they boys as well lol abso-f-ing-lutely gorgeous <3
We ended our session with our bride and groom tucked away in the secluded parts of Kumeu Valley Estate while they gave their vows to each other. While we gave them plenty of space to just enjoy the moment, it was easy to see how much it all meant to them as many a happy tear were shed.
The reception was no slouch either, everything looked like perfection with the team at Kumeu Valley Estate bringing the magic from behind the scenes and of course as always, the food was EPIC. We’d been keeping an eye on the weather the entire week and it kept screaming “It’s gonna rain!!” the whole time but when it was time for our sunset shoot, the thick clouds parted and we got our golden sunset!
The rest of the night was dominated by more epic speeches, a sparkler run and tons and tons of dancing 💃🤸♂️ What an epic way to start a marriage <3
