So, we found ourselves at Ohariu Farm in Wellington on a day that could've been straight out of a postcard – picture-perfect, rolling hills, and all that jazz. Hilary and Stratos were the stars of the show, and these hills played the best supporting role since Stratos popped the question in the equally scenic Hawkes Bay.
Now, here's the fun part – we weren't exactly strangers to this crew. We had the pleasure of capturing Hilary's sister's wedding, so it was kind of like a big, laid-back family reunion when we rolled up to Ohariu Farm. And let me tell you, the vibes were just right.
The bridal party shoot? Oh, that was just one big ball of laughs. I don't know if it was the fresh air, the gorgeous backdrop, or the fact that this crew knew how to have a good time, but we had a blast. And no, the fun didn't derail us from our mission – we still managed to snag some photos and footage that'd make your jaw drop.
Once the party cleared, and it was just Hilary and Stratos left in the quiet of the hills, something kind of magical happened. They decided to read their vows to each other in private. I know, cue the collective "aww." It was a moment where it felt like the world paused, and they got to share something intimate and real. Honestly, those quiet moments? And any good destination wedding photographer will know, that's where the good stuff is.
Now, let's talk about the ceremony. Stratos' family hails from Greece, and if you've ever been to a Greek celebration, you know it's the real deal. These folks know how to party, and party they did. There were dances, there were cheers, and I'm pretty sure someone broke a plate or two (traditionally, of course).
So, there you have it – Hilary and Stratos' wedding day at Ohariu Farm. A chill, picture-perfect day that turned into a celebration, just the way they wanted it. No need for over-the-top excitement; the love, laughter, and a good party did all the talking. Cheers to these two and their love story unfolding in the hills of Wellington.
