Collective Concepts | Christchurch Wedding Planner | Christchurch Caterer
A couple's wedding day is perhaps the most important day on a couple's bucket list. Just imagining how magical it will be for you and your guests sends shivers down the spine and tears to the eyes. However, the wedding planning it takes to get it to that image — to the actual wedding you've been planning for how long now — is perhaps the most stressful part of a couple's to-do list.
Handing these responsibilities off to others might seem like the scariest thing to do, but luckily there are true planning and event management professionals like Collective Concepts.
Based in Christchurch, Collective Concepts knows how important your magical day is and handles it accordingly.
The great thing about this event management service is that you can hand off as much of your wedding into their caring hands as you want with their flexible wedding planning packages.
For example, the first planning package named the First Steps is only just a consultation when you're on the hunt for the best suppliers and budget help. The next package, dubbed Ditch The Details, is the ideal choice if you have already begun to plan your own wedding day but need help with the intricacies, confirmations, and on-the-day coordination.
Of course, there's also the "ultimate stress-free wedding planning experience" that Collective Concepts promise through their aptly named Ultimate Package. This package lets you hand over your vision to the professionals and they'll take care of it from planning to day-of, to day-end.
They also have Canterbury's first bespoke all-inclusive wedding packages, where you can personalize your ideal day with the personal and professional supervision of Kate and the Collective Concepts team while working in partnership with an expert and creative group of wedding suppliers all selected by you. They'll hold your hands all throughout the minutiae — from venue to catering.
If you're still unsure of your vision, however, there's no need to fret. Collective Concepts also has a standing collaboration with Little Hire Company — another awesome Christchurch wedding supplier — which can take care of your wedding styling needs, from concept to execution.
If you already have everything planned but need help putting it all together, Collective Concepts allows you to engage wedding and event service employees to help with venue set-up and pack-down, styling, greeting, seating, and hosting guests, and delivering food and beverage services.
Collective Concepts, founded in Northland in 2008 by Kate Blundell, is now a Christchurch-based company that specializes in professional event management and delivery, experiential and digital brand engagement, and wedding planning and coordination for a diverse range of clients, both here and abroad. If you need some professional help when it comes to your very special day, then give Collective Concepts a call.
Here’s a few super happy brides that have nothing but the best to say about Kate and the awesome team at Collective Concepts!
From when we first met with Kate it was clear she had our backs.
She was always available to answer questions and keep us on track, I was fairly organized throughout the process but it was so reassuring to have someone that knew what they were doing keeping an eye on things.
She saved the day, during the only time on the planning process I cried. We had got our engagement pictures back and they were not what we had been expecting. Kate swung into action at 9.30pm and had messages out to a bunch of photographers that she knew to be amazing. With her help we were able to lock in the most wonderful photographer.
On the day Kate managed everything seamlessly. I didn’t have to worry about anything I just had to relax and enjoy my wedding.
Everything just happened, the venues were checked, cake fixed, decor moved from one venue to the other our guests taken care of.
We also had the pleasure of Steph aiding Kate close to our wedding, what the power team they are! I can only imagine how much more wonderful they are now.
If you are planning your wedding you need Kate and her team.

We have been absolutely blown away by the dedication & professionalism by the team at Collective Concepts. We engaged Collective Concepts for a Wedding Day Coordination Package - and we simply couldn’t have had our perfect day without them! Kate was so quick to respond to any questions or provide general support throughout our wedding planning journey, which played a huge part in selecting vendors & planning our day. The ‘Wedding Planning Toolkit’ Kate provided was so helpful for things from budgeting to reminders!
Our on the day coordinator was Alice, who was simply an angel. She literally ran everywhere to make sure everything ran smoothly, catered to everyone’s needs & even made sure we had food given to us when we went away for photos!
We also included the Event Bar Staff package to serve drinks on the day. Steph was just incredible, all our guests wanted to know her name as she was so helpful & made sure everyone was looked after.
We simply don’t know how people have weddings without you guys! We’re so thankful for all your hard work into making our day perfect.

Kate, Steph and the team at Collective Concepts were essential to making our magical wedding day happen. When you're the event manager for an event manager, there's extra pressure, but Kate won me over early on by promising to pour the right wine to suit the right guests (particularly me) and taking on the role of "decoy" to make sure the bride and groom had as relaxed a day as possible focusing on their wedding. I couldn't have done it without Kate & Steph being there during the planning to reassure me, bolster me up, and gently move me to the next step. On the day, Kate kindly reminded me of what's next, removed me from unnecessary conversations and confiscated my phone - what a legend! I know that like ducks paddling madly under water, there was so much done behind the scenes, but all I saw was my amazing wedding day run like clockwork. Thank you so much Kate & team.
